### Junk Bond <a href="#junk_bond" id="junk_bond"></a>

Wall Street slang for high-yield or non-investment grade bonds, described as such because these securities carry a higher default risk than investment-grade bonds with higher ratings. Junk bonds are rated 'Ba' or lower by Moody's, or 'BB' or lower by Standard & Poors.
